The year was 14 days old when we arrived at the Nathanael Green Lodge in Cincinnati to photograph Alex and Steve’s wedding. The year had just began, and joining the New Year on the start of something new and exciting was Alex and Steve. It was a joy to watch these two pledge their love and lives to one another on a chilly November day. As the wind blew outside, everyone inside was keeping warm by the fireplace and by the love emanating from the two of them, and all the family and friends that surrounded them.

Alex and Steve, thank you for allowing me to document this beautiful day. We wish you all the very best in this new year, and far beyond.

Best of 2011 | Weddings

This year has been pretty wonderful. As I was going through images from this past year, so many memories ran through my head. Memories of pulling up to weddings, excited for the day ahead, memories of beautiful ceremonies, of tears shed from grooms and brides, from mothers and fathers, of laughter (lots of that), of cute little children running around, of vows, of dancing, of cakes, of cha cha slides, of Dave and I smiling at each other when we realize how awesome our job is, oh and of lots of sweating..haha. Seriously, it has been an amazing year. To all of our brides and grooms and families who let us into your lives and allowed us to document your wedding, thank you, thank you, thank you. You’ve blessed us so.

Mavis and Doug | Full Post

Mavis and Doug were the last wedding for this year. And let me tell you, what a way to end the wedding season. Most of the wedding activity took place at Ryland Lakes Country Club, where Mavis and her 4 brothers and sisters all grew up. It is a very special, and a very picturesque community. There is a golf course, beautiful land, and many gorgeous lakefront homes. I had so much fun driving and walking around the gorgeous land that they country club is situated on while photographing the first look and posed photos. And the day – oh -it was beautiful! A bit windy, but I tend to think that adds beautiful character and motion to the photos.

As much as I loved seeing all the beautiful sights, being with Mavis and Doug, and their entire family was truly the highlight of the day. They are so incredibly welcoming and kind, I almost forgot that I was working! And most importantly, they are so in love. What a beautiful day :)

This couple got married on one of the most beautiful Fall days in October. It was one of those blue sky, crisp air, leaves falling on the ground type of day. A good day to get married. Ammie and Tyler not only got married on a gorgeous day, but were stunningly gorgeous themselves. And not only were they stunningly gorgeous, but the love between them eclipsed any other beauty on that day. It was seen and felt and known by everyone that surrounded them. One of my favorite moments was when Tyler saw Ammie for the first time. The moment that he looked at her, tears just streamed down his face. And she reached up, wiped his tears and looked at him with such intense love that all I could do was snap away and try to capture that beautiful scene with my camera.

There was so much love, so much laughter, and so much joy on that day. What an honor, and a privilege to be a part of something so beautiful.Ammie and Tyler, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your beautiful day!

I arrived at Spindletop Hall on a gorgeous day in October to document the wedding of Rachel and Chad. As I said, it was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, their were some puffy clouds in the sky, and the temperature was heavenly. “Not a bad way to start the day,” I thought. Then I go up to see Rachel and document the morning preparation. She is sitting in front of the window, eyes closed, getting her make up done, and looking simply stunning. When she realizes I was there, it was a chipper, “Hey Stephanie!!” and a warm welcome. Again I thought to myself, “What a great day!” Then I go outside to get some photos of Chad and his groomsmen, and with a glimmer in his eyes, he asks me, “How does she look?” I could tell it was all he could do to keep himself from running upstairs to her and marrying her right there on the spot. “Yep,” I thought again, “this is going to be a very good day”.Thank you Rachel and Chad for allowing me to document your amazing wedding day.
