I like to do it all. As a person I feel drawn to life and love in all of it’s forms. From the first time a baby comes home from the hospital, to the tight bond between family, to the awesome love that is shown through the life-long commitment of marriage, there is so much life to be documented. And that is what I aim to do, document life.
I am a photojournalist. I received my degree in it, and now I freelance for the Lexington Herald Leader. As photojournalist, two of the most important things you can do are to look for the moments, and to tell a story. When I realized that my love for people and relationships would lead me in the direction of wedding photography and family and newborn portraits, it only made sense to integrate my history with photojournalism into my technique. So before we begin our session, I want to get to know you, who you are, what is your story, what is your style, what do you like, what is your favorite color. Things like this will help me to create the best images that I can, because I can tell more of your story, I can make images that reflect who you are.
