When I photograph a wedding, I love to tell a story. The story of your love, the story of one of the best days of your life. The way that I will do this is for the most part I will not direct you, I will just let you do what you do best, BE YOU! I will find those moments, those details, those special things, and tell the story of your big day. Like when your dad tears up when he sees you in your dress for the first time, or your adorable little cousin who couldn’t stop looking at you in your pretty white dress, or your grandfather having a good hearty laugh, or the way that your fiance looks at you the first time he lays eyes on you. These are the moments that I will capture while you are busy enjoying every minute of your fantastic wedding.
We will of course do posed pictures, I love seeing the bride and groom work it while they are looking so beautiful and happy. Those are sometimes some of the most “fun” pictures for me to shoot because I get to see people really get into the shots, and everyone always looks so stunning.
I love photographing weddings. I always tell my brides it is such an honor, and it is. I get the privilege of seeing and documenting two people in love as part of my job. It almost seems too good.

The engagement session is just fun, good ole fun. And I believe very critical to making the photographs on the day of the wedding even better. The reason I say this is because this is really when I get to know the bride and groom. This consists of a couple of hours of low-key, fun, shooting. We can go to a variety of places from old brick buildings, to giant hay fields, it’s really up to you! A lot of times the couple has some special spots where they want to do the shoot, and other times couples will have me choose…either is great! Like I said, this session is really a lot of fun, and gives me the chance to get to know you. And the better I know you, the easier it is to take great photos.

I LOVE family sessions. I have so much fun seeing families interact and be themselves, and feel honored when I get to document such a beautiful thing. When doing a family session I will do a variety of shots. I will spend time with just the kids, photographing them, and what makes them unique. I’ll chase them around and let them be kids. I don’t care if the play in the dirt, write on chalkboards, play tag, or read. Whatever they do I will document that. As hard as seems, I want to capture the essence of being a child, and I don’t necessarily think that means spending our whole time getting them to pose. We might try a few posed shots, but mostly we let them have fun and document that! I can spend time with just the parents, giving them a couple of shots of just the two of them. And I will of course do photos of the whole family. It’s a lot of fun!
